THE NORTH-EAST CHILDREN’S TRUST
Nurture. Renew. Empower.

About Us
The North East Children’s Trust (NECT) was formed in December 2016 by His Excellency, the Vice President of Nigeria (Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN) to establish at least 10 (ten) Integrated Learning Centres (ILC) that would provide comprehensive support to orphans in the North East of Nigeria. The Learning Centers are no ordinary buildings – they are homes of hope; to heal, to educate, to empower, and to refine the next generation of leaders from the region, and for the region.

About The Learning Centers
We are in the process of setting up homes of hope and healing, for Children orphaned by the Boko Haram insurgency across the North East. The construction of the flagship Learning Centre in Maiduguri, Borno is billed to be concluded by December 2017 and school enrolment concluded by March 2018.
The flagship Learning Centre will provide 1000 children with Primary to Secondary School education and establish a Vocational Training Centre. In addition, it will provide accommodation, health care services, recreational activities, life skills, exposure to innovative technology, opportunity to practice agriculture and other easy-to-learn livelihood skills for the older children.
The core drive of these centers will be a nexus between capacity development, sustainability, capacity development and a well-rounded education. We are making this happen, with the humble belief that the next generation of leaders that will in turn heal the entire region, will be created at our Learning Centers.
